Five-Bagger For St. Pierre At RCR
Rideau Carleton Raceway sent 15 races postward for its Thursday, August 16 program of live racing. Denis St. Pierre was down to steer in 10 of the races. At the end of the night, the pilot that recently recorded his 3,500th driving victory was batting .500.
St. Pierre got his winning fiesta underway in Race 2, as he steered Per Henriksen trainee Frilly Thong to an open-length victory in 2:00.4.
After missing in Race 3, St. Pierre was back to it in Race 4, as he came from off the pace with Jeremes Jet three-year-old Jet Fun to record a half-length win in 1:58.3.
St Pierre's third victory of the evening came in Race 8, when he clicked with the Colin Johnson-trained Peenie in a snappy 1:52.1 mile.
Race 10 saw St. Pierre make yet another trip to the winner's circle, this time with another Colin Johnson charge, Stonebridge Wish, in 1:52.4.
It was yet another Colin Johnson student who helped St. Pierre notch his fifth win of the night in Race 11. Machtothemoon kicked in the jets in the back half of his mile and powered to an eight-length victory in 1:58.
