Twin B Impressive Wins Series Leg
Summertime Pacing Series runner-up Twin B Impressive headed over to Flamboro Downs on Saturday afternoon to try his luck in the Signature Pacing Series and came out on top with a wire-to-wire effort in the single $10,000 second leg division.
With Billy Davis Jr. catch-driving, Twin B Impressive fired to the lead from post three and carved out fractions of :28, :56.3, and 1:25.2 en route to victory in 1:54. Hidden Potential and James MacDonald finished over one length behind in second while Highland Boreas and Garrett Whelan were third.
The 1-2 favourite paid $3 to win.
Richard Moreau trains the three-year-old Bettors Delight gelding, a winner of four races in 12 starts and $63,000 this year, for owner Gestion Jean Yves Blais of Montreal, Que.
The victory gave Moreau a double and was one of four on the 12-race card for Davis Jr., who is just six away from the 1,000 win mark. Anthony MacDonald drove five winners.
The Signature Series is for pacing colts and geldings that are non-winners of $75,000 lifetime as of midnight July 14, 2012 (no allowances for age). The series will wrap up with a $50,000 (added) final on Sunday, August 12.
