Crazed Colt Sets Track Record
Tirade Hanover was the star of the show on Friday night at Saratoga Raceway, on an evening in which the 13-race card was predominantly comprised of New York Sire Stakes for two-year-old trotters.
Tirade Hanover (Crazed-Teagarden Hanover) set a new track record for two-year-old gelding trotters with his romp, in 1:58.2, in the $51,022 New York Sire Stakes division. Stephane Bouchard sat behind the freshman high-stepper as he went wire-to-wire, making good at odds of 1-5.
The win time also matched the overall track mark for two-year-old trotters set by RC Royalty in 2005 and Friday’s win was the third in five starts for Tirade Hanover, a Tyler Raymer trainee who has emerged as one New York’s top twp-year-old trotters.
For Bouchard, the win was one of four on the night. Other winners in Friday’s New York Sire Stakes were Explosive Action (Conway Hall-Yettas Angel) in 2:00.4; Royalty For Life (RC Royalty-Bourbon N Grits) in 1:59; and Prove Up (Plesac-Perennial) in 2:00.4.
