SBSW Sister To Sweet Lou Debuts
Sweet Lady Jane, the half-sister to world champions Sweet Lou and Bettor Sweet, won her freshman qualifying debut on Saturday morning at Meadowlands Racetrack.
With John Campbell in the bike for trainer Larry Remmen, the Somebeachsomewhere-Sweet Future filly romped to a six-plus length score in 1:59.3 with a :27.3 final frame. She is owned and bred by Birnam Wood Farms of Los Angeles, California.
Captaintreacherous turned in his third consecutive qualifying victory during the five-race session with Tim Tetrick in tow for trainer Tony Alagna. The Somebeachsomewhere-Worldly Treasure colt sat third early on before sprinting a :26.4 final quarter to stop the timer in 1:52.4.
The $250,000 Lexington Selected yearling is owned by Brittany Farms of Versailles, Kentucky, Marvin Katz of Toronto, Joe Sbrocco of Brecksville, Ohio, and breeder White Birch Farm of Allentown, New Jersey.
The morning's trot winners were the debuting filly Heavenly Chocolate (Chocolatier-Hallmarker T) in 2:00.4 with Yannick Gingras aboard for trainer Jonas Czernyson; colt The Fresh Prince (Fresh Winner Pearl-Princess Kelly) in 1:59.2 for driver David Miller and conditioner Bruce Lauer; and the Remmen-trained colt Crazy X Lover (Crazed-Dixieland Jazz) in 2:01.3 with Campbell in the sulky.
