The Ontario Racing Commission has reviewed Ontario tracks' applications for 2009 race dates, and, in turn, announced its decision this afternoon.

The allocation of 2009 race dates is listed below.

Thoroughbred

• Flamboro Downs 225 (application for schedule change approved)
• Georgian Downs 108 (application for schedule change approved)
• Grand River 65
• Hanover 31
• Hiawatha Horse Park 52
• Kawartha Downs 104
• Mohawk 115
• Rideau Carleton 153
• Sudbury Downs 67
• Windsor 111
• Woodbine 128 (application for change partially approved)
• Woodstock 27

Quarter Horse

• Ajax 35 (application for change approved)

The release states that all tracks are granted 364 days of simulcasting, as applied. It also states that a decision in the matter of Western Fair Raceway has been put forward until after November 30 in order that an analysis of Saturday racing in October 2008 at Western Fair can be obtained and considered.

The ORC announcement also states that no decision in the matter of Fort Erie Racetrack for thoroughbred has been made at this time.
