Historic Stakes At Tioga Sunday
The Historic Stakes for three-year olds roll in to Tioga Downs on Sunday afternoon with a post time of 1:30 p.m.
Two of the four divisions have been carded as non-wagering events due to four horses being entered for the three-year old colt pace, and six horses (with a three-horse DR Ackerman entry) being entered for the three-year old colt trot. Those events will take place after races one and three on the afternoon’s 12-race card.
In the $69,488 lone division for three-year old pacing fillies, JK Fine Art (to be driven by Tim Tetrick) will look to add to her already impressive bankroll this season entering Sunday with more than $71,000 in just three starts. The three-year old daughter of Art Major was second in the Lismore and her latest NYSS start at Tioga Downs for trainer Linda Toscano.
Looking to upset JK Fine Art will be Dream Of Winning (Brett Miller) who makes her first start outside of Pennsylvania for trainer Aaron Johnston. The three-year old daughter of Yankee Cruiser posted a lifetime best of 1:51.3 earlier this year at Harrah’s Philadelphia and in her most recent PASS start finished third after cutting the early fractions.
Fifteen three-year old trotting fillies entered and were split into two divisions slated for Race 6 and Race 8 on the card. 2011 Kindergarten Classic Champion, Lady Andi, will be making her third start of her sophomore campaign for trainer Larry Rathbone. The three-year old daughter of Andover Hall has drawn Post 7 in the first division and will have the services of catch driver Brett Miller.
