MacDonald Wins Five Races At Rideau
Driver John MacDonald dominated Sunday night's harness racing card at Rideau Carleton Raceway winning five of the 15 races.
MacDonald scored his first and last wins on the program with a pair of Matthew McDonald trainees. He guided Foolish Justice ($3.80) to a two and a quarter length tally in 1:55.4 in the opener and 14-year-old Chip Dot Com ($13.30) to the trotter's 78th lifetime victory in 1:59 by a quarter length in the 14th.
The Russell, Ont. reinsman picked up three more victories in between beginning with Knockout Artist ($35.10) scoring a career-best 1:53 win by a quarter length for trainer Marc Lamarche in the seventh dash. He was also victorious with the Andrew Moore-conditioned Bryson Seelster ($10.20) in 1:53.1 by four lengths in the 11th race and pulled off an upset win with Win Gaiter ($48.40) in 1:55 by a length and a quarter for trainer Ronald MacDonald in the 13th.
MacDonald, who is en route to his seventh consecutive million dollar season, has won 81 races so far in 2012. Lifetime, he has driven 2,411 winners while earning over $12.4 million in purses.
