Kadabra Son Back In Buffalo Spotlight
Ontario sired Baileys Magic won the $10,000 Open Trot in 1:59.3 at Buffalo Raceway Friday night, June 8.
The victory was his 10th in 19 attempts this year and was the closest race of the night.
Baileys Magic ($14.40) dismissed by the bettors at 6-1 and driven by reinsman Dan Noble, cut all the fractions in the race, :29.4, 1:00.1, and 1:30. A :29.3 last quarter-mile put the winner a neck in front of second place finisher A Hay Luva Paige (Shawn Gray) at the wire. Serious George (Jack Flanigen), who was moving up in class and looking for his fourth win in a row, came in third, just a half length away.
The five-year-old Kadabra gelding out of the Berndt Hanover mare Lexus Bailey is trained by John Mungillo and owned by Super Mile LLC. The $5,000 share of the winning purse put Baileys Magic’s season bankroll at $50,309 and lifetime earnings at $88,518.
