Redemption Time For Bombilla Hanover
After burning her backers at 1-9 last week when making a break in stride due to a tropical rainstorm, Bombilla Hanover redeemed herself at even money in the $8,500 Isle Mile Mares Open Handicap Pace feature on the Monday evening, June 4 program.
After Major Trap was sent to the lead by Andy Santeramo to post the front quarter in 27.3, Bruce Ranger had Bombilla Hanover up on the move to seize the lead and make a torrid pace the balance of the way in :56.1 and 1:23.1 leading to the win time of 1:52.2. Nillabomb sat third in line throughout with Dan Clements in the bike and brushed up to take the place position from Major Trap.
Peter Blood of Pompano Beach, FL is a co-owner and the trainer of Bombilla Hanover, who will surpass $100,000 in career earnings with her next paycheque. Ownership shares of the 4 year old daughter of The Panderosa-Bet Me Hanover are also held by Rick Berks of Boca Raton, FL and Lew Whitaker of Schnecksville, PA.
The June 4 program made it a wrap for Monday evening live harness racing programs for the 2011-2012 season at The Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park. Live racing action will now be conducted every Wednesday and Saturday at 7:05 p.m. Eastern through the conclusion of the current meet on July 28.
