Its In The Stars Stellar In Plainridge Feature

Its In The Stars

Following two narrow defeats in his last two starts at The Meadowlands, Its In The Stars made his return to Plainridge Park a winning one in the featured $30,556 upper-level conditioned pace on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Its In The Stars (Brett Beckwith) sat second and watched Pa Luke (Bruce Ranger) bolt to the lead and set fractions of :27.1, :55.2 and 1:22.2. Only Jackson Cooper (Nick Graffam) made a mild bid from fourth to track down the leader, but that rush fell short as Pa Luke entered the last turn ahead by two lengths. Its In The Stars veered off the pegs at the top of the lane and started making up ground quickly, moving to the lead to win by a length in 1:49.4, which was a new seasonal mark. Pa Luke held second, followed by Mr Huggins (Kyle Swift).

The win was the fourth of the year in 16 starts for Its In The Stars ($7.80), who is owned by Pollock Racing LLC and trained by Enrico Robinson. The eight-year-old Heston Blue Chip-Four Starz Horndog gelding is now 27-for-124 lifetime.

There were also two $26,389 conditioned paces on the card.

The first was won by Jls Rock Star (Kyle Swift), who moved third-over from fifth behind Instant Replay (Nick Graffam), who was in pursuit of the pacesetting Forward Look (Wally Watson). Instant Replay cleared at three-quarters, but Jls Rock Star powered to the front in the stretch and drew clear by three lengths for a seasonal-best 1:51.2 score. Borninlockdown Gb (Mitchell Cushing) surged for second over Low Ride (Matt Athearn). Jls Rock Star ($42.40) is trained by Brian Lamb, who owns him in partnership with Eddie Fournier Jr.

The second went to Swifty Run (Matt Athearn), who sat second behind Montana Gb (Nick Graffam) before tipping out nearing three-quarters. After battling around the turn, The tussle continued all the way down the lane until Swifty Run edged ahead to prevail by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:51.1, which matched his seasonal best. Montana Gb held second over a closing Lochlan Hanover (Brett Beckwith). Swifty Run ($5.40) is owned by John Barnard and trained by Irwin Rosenthal.

Nick Graffam led all drivers with three wins on the 11-race card, while Laura Shock was top trainer with two wins to her credit.

Racing will resume at Plainridge Park on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. There will be a $34,764 carryover in the Wicked Hi-5 pentafecta wager in the sixth race.
