After the Winter Is Coming Series got underway with trotting action on Monday, Nov. 2 at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania, the pacers had their turn in the spotlight Tuesday, Nov. 3, contesting a single $20,833 first-round prelim.

The series pacers were led by Bugaboo Lou, an altered son of Sweet Lou-Perplexed who yielded to Lennon Hanover (George Napolitano Jr.) at the :27 quarter, then sat in the two-hole through :55.2 and 1:23.1 middle panels. The six-year-old showed a :27.2 kick home, which was enough for him to strike the front and keep Deuce Hanover (Ridge Warren) a length away at the finish in 1:50.4. Lennon Hanover was third.

Bugaboo Lou, a winner of $322,902 and 12 races from 84 lifetime starts, was driven by Jim Pantaleano for trainer Richard Johnson and owner Richard Hernandez. The win price was $5.80.

There will be another preliminary round on both gaits this coming week, and the top performers will be eligible for their $20,000 USD series championship during the last week of the Pocono season, which closes Saturday, Nov. 21.

The top overnight event Tuesday was a $21,527 trot for developing diamondgaiters, which went to the Walner-What A Knockout sophomore filly Whatarace Hanover ($3), a 1:53.4 winner for driver Tyler Buter and trainer Åke Svanstedt, whose Ake Svanstedt Inc. shares ownership with S R F Stable.

Anthony Napolitano piloted four horses to victory lane on the 14-race Tuesday card to give him a remarkable 13 victories in the three-day Pocono week. Braxten Boyd had three winners, while meet leader Tyler Buter and James Kennedy had two each. Kennedy guided both winners from the barn of Bruce Clarke; Team Svanstedt also had a pair of success stories.

There are only seven cards remaining in the 2026 Pocono season. The mountain track’s next card will be on Saturday at 1 p.m., and it will have a $27,500 USD Winners Over Handicap Pace and $21,000 USD sub-feature. There will also be three $10,000 USD divisions of the second preliminary of the Game Of Claims Pacing Series for horses base-tagged this week at $12,500 USD.
