A $17,000 Fillies & Mares Open Pace headlined the Monday, Nov. 2 card at Desert Park, with Vintage Lass going coast-to-coast on the lead to score with driver Brandon Campbell.

Leaving from post three as the 4-5 favourite, Vintage Lass hustled off the wings, driving around Ulla Law (Nick Roland) en route to an opening panel of :27.3. The quintet raced single-file in the second stanza, allowing Vintage Lass to back things down to the half in :58.2. The tempo quickened entering the final turn, with Vintage Lass reaching three-quarters in 1:27 with Ulla Law still giving chase from second.

Campbell began to urge Vintage Lass for more spinning for home, with Ulla Law tipping from the pocket still with 1-1/2 lengths to make up. Ulla Law lunged late, but could not reach Vintage Lass, who held sway by a head on the line in 1:56. Angels Ava Baby (John Vukelich) was third, 7-1/4 lengths back of the victor.

Trained by Cody Easton, Vintage Lass has won four straight and five of 25 starts on the season. Easton of Langley, B.C. also owns the five-year-old daughter of Vintage Master-Judys Lass, who has banked $114,621 in her career.
