Yonkers Tweaks Second Quarter Penalty System

A view of Yonkers Raceway

MGM Yonkers Raceway has announced a rule change regarding its 30-second second quarter rule, effective immediately. Going forward, the parameters and penalties for violation of the 30-second second-quarter rule will be as follows:

Trotters of all ages will now receive a one-second allowance, meaning a second quarter in 31 seconds or less will be permitted, while pacers must go in at least 30 seconds on a fast track without a variant.

Those who do not adhere to the guidelines will be penalized as follows:

  • First violation: warning
  • Second violation: $100 USD fine
  • Third violation and beyond: $250 USD fine

Yonkers enacted its penalty system for 30-second second quarters in January of this year.

MGM Yonkers Raceway is currently operating on a Monday through Friday live racing schedule with post time each night at 6:45 p.m. (EDT).
