Prince Hal Hanover Headed To Stud Duty

Prince Hal Hanover

Canadian-campaigned double millionaire pacer Prince Hal Hanover will head to stud duty next year.

Dr. J Stallion Management and Blue Chip Farms announced on Wednesday, Oct. 21 that four-year-old stallion Prince Hal Hanover, p, 3, 1:47.2 ($2,463,738) will stand in New York at Blue Chip Farms commencing with the 2027 breeding season.

A top-level performer all three years he has raced for trainer Dr. Ian Moore and Prince Hal Hanover Stable of Cambridge, Ont., Prince Hal Hanover won the Delvin Miller Adios, Carl Milstein Memorial, divisions of the Somebeachsomewhere and Bluegrass Stakes and an elimination of the Breeders Crown at three.

This year, at the age of four, Prince Hal Hanover has been a major player in the older pacing ranks. Prince Hal Hanover won the Miami Valley Raceway's Pacey Mindlin Invitational and swept his elimination and final of the Charles Juravinski Memorial Cup on the half-mile track Flamboro Downs in his first three starts as a four-year-old. He has gone on to win a leg of the Graduate Series, an elimination for the Canadian Pacing Derby and the Allerage Farms Open Pace. Prince Hal Hanover will be racing in the Breeders Crown Open Pace this Saturday, Oct. 24. Possessed with blazing gate speed, Prince Hal Hanover is a factor every time he races and has missed the board just once in 2026.

Bred by Hanover Shoe Farms, Prince Hal Hanover is sired by Captaintreacherous out of the Breeders Crown champion mare Percy Bluechip p, 3, 1:51.1f ($1,023,216), a full sister to fellow O'Brien Award winner Arthur Blue Chip and half-sibling to millionaire Kenneth J.

“I have always admired Prince Hal Hanover; he always shows up," said Dr. Bridgette Jablonsky of Dr. J Stallion Management. "He’s fast, he’s tough and he has the gate speed to put himself in any race. Never count him out. Hanover purchased his dam in 2019, my first year as the Executive Vice-President there. It’s very satisfying to see a mare I selected produce a horse like Prince Hal as her second foal.”

“Prince Hal Hanover’s second dam, Advantest, was one of the first high-end race fillies we invested in and after her career, all she did was throw top horses," said Tom Grossman of Blue Chip Farms. "We are very excited to have all that Blue Chip blood back on the farm and in New York State. We are big believers in stallions from top maternal families and we are very excited for Prince Hal’s future in New York.”

Trainer Dr. Ian Moore added, “Prince Hal Hanover is without question one of the toughest and fastest horses I have ever trained. He shows up every week on every size track, from any post position with any kind of trip. 'Hal' is a class act that has every characteristic in a racehorse that you would want and I truly believe he will pass on all those qualities as a stallion.”

Todd McCarthy, a regular driver of Prince Hal Hanover, echoed those sentiments, saying, "Prince Hal Hanover is one of the toughest and fastest horses I’ve had the pleasure of driving. He gives you everything he’s got every time he steps on the track and his manners make him an absolute pleasure to drive. He’s got the speed, heart and attitude you look for in a great racehorse.”

The introductory service fee for Prince Hal Hanover will be $7,500 USD. Prince Hal Hanover will be syndicated at the conclusion of his 2026 racing season Contact Dr. J at 717-578-7395 or [email protected] for more information.
