Standardbred Canada (SC) is pleased to announce that the 38th annual O’Brien Awards will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2027, at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale in Mississauga, Ont. 

The O’Brien Awards Gala is the Canadian harness racing industry’s premier annual celebration, bringing together finalists, their connections, industry members and guests from across the country to recognize the year’s outstanding achievements in Canadian harness racing.

Following last year’s event in London, Ont., the O’Brien Awards will return to the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale, which previously hosted the gala in 2025.

Finalists and their guests will stay at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale, the host hotel for the 38th O’Brien Awards. The Standardbred Canada room block will be released closer to the event.

The dress code for the O’Brien Awards is black tie. Guests are encouraged to attend in formal attire, including tuxedos and evening gowns. 

This year’s Gala theme is Celebrate Your Roots, celebrating the places and traditions that make us who we are. We invite you to embrace black-tie elegance with a meaningful detail inspired by your roots. Whether it's a provincial tartan, a family heirloom, a cultural accessory, a hometown colour or a piece from a local artisan, let your attire tell a story.

Tickets for the 38th O’Brien Awards are $220 plus tax. To purchase tickets, please complete the online ticket order form below. Once the form has been submitted, a member of the Industry Development department will follow up with you to confirm your order.
