Sent postward as the 1/4 public choice, Nuttin But Finesse delivered a stylish bespoke performance in the $2,000 Winners Over Pace on Saturday, Oct. 17 at Connell Park Raceway in Woodstock, N.B.

Leaving from post three for driver Mike Downey, Nuttin But Finesse cleared to the top through the opening turn and faced nary an anxious moment from there. After back-to-back first half fractions of 29 seconds (:29 and :58), Nuttin But Finesse doled out consecutive :29.2 panels to hit the third station in 1:27.2 and trip the timer in 1:56.4. Party Place (Colin Decourcey) finished 2-1/2 lengths back in second with Storm Shadow (Dr. Mitch Downey) rounding out the top trio.

Ellen Stevenson trains Nuttin But Finesse, an eight-year-old son of Art Major-Nuttin But Trouble owned by Dr. Downey of Saint John, N.B. The stallion is now a 43-time winner in his career with $410,744 in earnings. He returned $2.70 to his backers.
