Following an unprecedented 91-day regular summer season at Eldorado Scioto Downs, the Columbus, Ohio oval is gearing up for two Breeders Crown weekends. 

Breeders Crown eliminations will be held on Friday, Oct. 16 and Saturday, Oct. 17, with the finals on Oct. 23-24.

There will be a double draw for eliminations weekend, with the box closing for both nights at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13. Friday overnight events include classes for non-winners of $11,501 USD last four and up, including $30,000 USD Opens for filly pacers and trotters. Saturday has overnight classes for non-winners of $11,501 USD last four and up, including the Open for male pacers as well as a three-year-old Open (Ohio-sired preferred) going for $30,000 USD. The board will clear for both elimination days on Wednesday, Oct. 14 by 11:30 a.m. There will be no racing at Dayton Raceway on Oct. 16, 17, 23 and 24, the days of the Breeders Crown cards at Scioto.

Supplements to the Breeders Crown for three-year-olds and aged horses are due by noon on Monday, Oct. 12. More detailed information regarding supplements can be found here.

More details about racing for the next two weekends can be found on the Scioto Downs website. Seating reservations are available on Open Table and include patio tables near the clubhouse and the beer garden on the north end of the grandstand. Live racing starts at 6 p.m. each day.

The available tickets for Breeders Crown finals weekend at publication time are: $65 USD beer garden tickets (4 p.m. seating time) including a live band, $10 USD concession voucher, promotional gift bag and race program; patio tables ($250 USD, for six people, includes a $10 USD concession voucher and race program for each seat at the table); limited box seats for Friday, Oct. 23 for $55 USD, including a padded seat with drink rail, $10 USD concession voucher and race program. The reservations available at time of release for elim weekend are clubhouse seating for Friday, Oct. 16. Clubhouse seating is sold out for Oct. 17, 23 and 24.

Regular grandstand seating is open seating for both weekends at no charge, and the beer garden tent will be open for anyone attending the races on eliminations weekend.
