Double Feature From Outlaw Playmymovie In Desert Park Open

Outlaw Playmymovie

Outlaw Playmymovie remained undefeated at Desert Park Raceway and went back-to-back in the $17,000 Open Handicap Pace with a pocket-popping victory on Sunday, Oct. 11.

The win, Outlaw Playmymovie’s 11th in 20 starts this year, also completed a training triple for Rebecca Kanak on the six-race program.

The gelding settled in second behind Imoutthedoor (Scott Knight) as the field of five formed up in program order through :29.2 and 1:00.2 fractions. With Gandalf (Nick Roland) looming first-up, Brandon Campbell mobilized Outlaw Playmymovie from the pocket, and the gelding stepped to the front going to three-quarters in 1:29.1. Outlaw Playmymovie then extended his advantage straightening for home and rolled to a 2-3/4-length score in 1:57.4 over the track rated "good." Alilthundadownunda (John Abbott) closed down the outside from last in the lane to nab second over Itll Be Fine (Dave Hudon).

Outlaw Playmymovie has won on all three cards since the opening of Desert Park on Sept. 27 for owners Trevor Williams of Winnipeg, Man., Aurel Vodon of Virden, Man. and Morning Line Inc. of Airdrie, Alta. The four-year-old son of Shadow Play-Pure Movement is 14-for-38 lifetime with $80,832 in earnings. He paid $3.50 to win.

Kanak, who won four races on each of the first two Desert Park programs, also tallied with De La Cruz ($7.90) and Pullaway Ace ($4) on Sunday. The trainer, in the midst of a career-best season in wins and earnings, holds a commanding lead early in the meet at the Osoyoos, B.C. oval.

Racing resumes at Desert Park on Monday at 2 p.m. PDT.
