Harness racing at Western Fair Raceway

Two-year-olds completed the 2026 Prospect Series as they raced in four $25,000 finals on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at The Raceway at the Western Fair District.

Benjamin Blue Chip ($12.60) strolled to a 2:02 triumph in the colt trot, cutting the mile on the way to a 3-1/2-length score over the surging Irish Exit (Jonathan Drury). Wolfpack Doc (Tyler Moore) was third after a first-over bid. Brady Galliers piloted the King Of The North-Essence Of Lindy gelding to victory, his third in the Prospect Series, for trainer Amanda Riley and owners Tom Riley of Roseneath, Ont. and Bryn Campbell of Port Hope, Ont.

Snitchesgetstiches ($59.40) muscled to the front down the backstretch and fended off Snowdream Hanover (Samuel Fillion) down the lane to finish off a 28-1 upset in the filly trot. Odds-on favourite Pink Gin Fizz (Jody Jamieson) went wide off cover and chased the top two home in third. Snitchesgetstiches maintained a three-quarter-length margin to the line to prevail in 2:02.1 with Ryan Guy aboard for trainer Mike Armstrong. The Alarm Detector-Tymalpassuby filly broke her maiden with the victory for owner Rachel Burns of Cardinal, Ont.

Team Jamison swept the pacing splits, with Jody Jamieson driving both sidewheeling winners to victory for his father, trainer Carl Jamieson. Untold Story ($19.60), despite going four-for-four in the prelims, was sent off at 8-1 due to the presence of Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots leg winner Will Farroh but led all the way to prevail in male pace. With his chief rival on flattening cover on the last turn, Untold Story slipped away and then held off the closing Will Farroh (Doug McNair) down the lane to win by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:56.4. Aussie Pharoah (Mike Vanderkemp) held for show off an uncovered trip. Untold Story, a Bettors Delight-Unred Hanover colt, is owned by Hutt Racing Stable of Malvern, Pa.

Pa Lila ($4.40) came off a career-best effort in her last prelim appearance to take the final for pacing fillies in 1:58.2. The daughter of Cattlewash-Australia Hanover clawed to the front going to the quarter and held the lead for the remainder to win by 2-1/4 lengths. Th Penelope (Mark MacDonell) closed three-wide in the third quarter and finished gamely for second over Two Piece (Scott Young). Pa Lila is owned by Carl Jamieson of Puslinch, Ont. 1140545 Ontario Ltd. of Guelph, Ont., George Harrison of Preston, England and Joanne Morrison of Beaton, Ont.
