Logan Park Pockets Mohawk Open Trot

With Dame Good Time cutting the mile, Logan Park bided his time with a pocket trip en route to victory in the $44,000 Open Trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Sunday, Oct. 4.

A cavalry charge shot out of the gate in the featured race and Hasty Bid (James MacDonald) was the first to the point to the quarter in :27.1. Logan Park (Doug McNair) positioned himself in second and Louis-Philippe Roy took Dame Good Time landed third in the single-file lineup. After that opening panel, McNair accelerated to the top with Logan Park, his movements swiftly followed by Dame Good Time. 

Dame Good Time remained on the lead through the half in :54.2 and three quarters in 1:22.3, followed by Logan Park with his nose on Roy's helmet. Turning for home, Logan Park peeked out from the pocket. Halfway down the stretch, McNair pressed the gas and Logan Park responded with a 2-1/4 length victory in 1:50.3. Dame Good Time finished second and Hasty Bid rounded out the top three.

Outofthepark Stable, Reg Higgs and Arpad Szabo co-own the eight-year-old gelded son of Archangel and the Muscle Mass mare Rite Outa The Park. In his 117-start career to date, Logan Park has amassed $2,539,965 to go along with a record of 53-13-10. This season, the Kyle Fellows student has won nine times from 15 starts and has earned $242,616. 

Trainer David Menary rattled off a natural hat trick in races seven through nine with New Rules (McNair), Shadow Of An Angel (Roy), and Seen Here (MacDonald) each returning with a win on Sunday's card.
