As the 2026 Canadian harness racing season enters the homestretch with a final quarter to go, Trot Insider takes a look at the drivers and trainers leading the way.

Looking to defend his title as Canada's leading driver for wins, Austin Sorrie has won 273 races so far this year in Canada and holds a 13-win lead over James MacDonald and Ohio newcomer Brady Galliers, each with 260 victories. Samuel Fillion is just two back with 258 wins.

James MacDonald continues his reign atop the standings as leading money-winning driver in the nation this year. The five-time Driver of the Year has driven horses to $7,661,691 in purse earnings and has extended his lead by $1.8 million. Doug McNair ($5,853,724) and Louis-Philippe Roy ($5,277,169) round out the top three as the only other drivers to surpass the $5 million threshold. 

Marc Campbell ranks No. 1 for UDRS at 0.422 followed closely by Blake Piwniuk in second at 0.418 and Pascal Berube at 0.415.

Jodie Cullen, Canada's leading trainer for wins the last two years, continues to dominate the standings and has sent out winners of 214 races so far this year, more than 90 wins ahead of Gerard Demers (122) and Kyle Fellows (121). Gregg McNair and David Menary have also hit the century mark, each with 102 wins.

Kyle Fellows trains the leading money-winning stable in Canada this year, currently with $3,052,307 in earnings. Jodie Cullen ranks second for earnings with $2,943,851 followed by three others who have topped the $2 million mark this season, Gregg McNair ($2,825,450), David Menary ($2,801,139) and Dr. Ian Moore ($2,268,513).

Earl Watts boasts a nation-leading UTRS of 0.482 with Jean-Francois Maguire second at 0.424 and Rebecca Kanak third at 0.394.
