Disturbed Hanover sprang a 21-1 upset in the $31,690 Fillies and Mares Open Handicap Pace on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at Harrington Raceway over a sloppy track.

Square Deal (Tony Morgan) made the early lead at the quarter in :27.4 and led the field through fractions of :57 and 1:27.1 while Lous Lucky Girl (Mike Cole) waited in the pocket. Lofty Treasure (Brandon Givens) raced first-over while providing cover to Disturbed Hanover, driven by Barton Dalious, in the outer flow. Disturbed Hanover fanned wide in the stretch with the most pace, shot to the top, and held off a hard-charging Lous Lucky Girl for the win by a neck in 1:56.4. Lofty Treasure was third. 

A 10-year-old daughter of Big Jim-Driven To Sin, Disturbed Hanover notched her second straight win and 46th of her career in 230 starts. She now has $806,996 in career earnings and took her lifetime mark of 1:51.1 as an eight-year-old at Bally’s Dover. Bart Dalious trains the mare for The Wiz Kids Stable LLC. The win price was $45.60.

The Sept. 28-30 week of racing at Harrington will be headlined by the first leg of Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund action for two-year-olds, featuring $20,000 USD divisions nightly. The top eight point earners from each division will return to compete in the $110,000 USD finals on Oct. 12-14.
