It was déjà vu at Tioga Downs on Friday, Sept. 18 for Braxten Boyd. After driving six winners on Thursday, the meet's leading driver matched that feat with six more wins during Friday's nine-race card.

Boyd's Friday winners were Blank Stare ($2.42) and Century Heineken ($3.60) for trainer Enrico Robinson, Sun Of A Show ($3.84) and Brother Dick ($3.42) for the Tee Wine stable, Combative ($6.10) for conditioner Joe Pavia Jr., and Eighty One ($7.26) for trainer Brandy Wine.

Boyd is putting the finishing touches on his third straight driving title at Tioga Downs and was honoured on the penultimate card of the meet on Friday for the accomplishment. Boyd leads all Tioga drivers with 132 wins (through Friday night). Ridge Warren is second in the standings with 88 victories. Jim Pantaleano (79), Mike Merton (76) and Colin Kelly (25) round out the top five.

Rob Harmon was presented with the award for top trainer of the meet, with 42 wins (through Friday). Mike Deters ranks second with 33 tallies. Michelle Warner (31), Enrico Robinson (29) and Kevin Reynolds Jr (23) round out the top five.

The Rob Harmon-trained trotting distaff Enola was named Tioga's mare of the year. The six-year-old daughter of Resolve-Deweys Katie won five times with three seconds and four thirds in 16 starts at Tioga. She is owned by Go For Glory Stable for Metuchen, New Jersey.

Livonjaxandqueens was honoured as the track's pacer of the year while Super Duper Cooper was named top trotter.

In 13 starts at Tioga this year, Livonjaxandqueens had five wins, two seconds and three thirds. The six-year-old horse by American Ideal out of Its De Lovely is trained by James Rothfuss for owners Howard Ouriel of Rochester, New York and Andrew Ouriel of Sandusky, Ohio.

Super Duper Cooper was a perfect four-for-four in Tioga competition this year. The five-year-old E L Titan-Pink Power gelding is trained by Enrico Robinson and owned by Pollack Racing of Venetia, Pennsylvania.

Kathleen Friedrich was named Tioga's groom of the year.

The final Open of the meet was won by pacer Natameri ($19.46) on Friday night as driver Tom Merton took the Jessica Okusko trainee to a 1:50.4 front-end score in the $21,527 event, fighting off the Braxten Boyd-driven Rockstar Artist A and upsetting favourite Lusaka N (Jim Pantaleano). Mr Huggins (James Kennedy) finished third.

Natameri is an eight-year-old son of American Ideal-Native Daughter, owned by Purple Haze Stables of Fairport, New York. The win was his fifth of the season in 14 starts and 36th victory lifetime from 80 trips behind the gate.

Tioga's closing night is Saturday featuring the New York Sire Stakes Excelsior Series finals. Post time at 6:15 p.m. with fireworks to follow live racing.
