Keystone Classic stakes action returned to The Meadows on Thursday, Sept. 17 with a single $97,083 division for two-year-old colt pacers and a pair of $33,000-plus divisions for two-year-old colt trotters.

Hungry Marco and driver Brady Brown inherited a straight shot to the passing lane, and the pair cashed in to win the $97,083 Keystone Classic for two-year-old pacers. A break on the lead from Stonebridge Blitz (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) put Brown and the Stay Hungry-Always Giggling colt in the pocket behind Atomix Hanover (Anthony MacDonald) just after the three-quarter mark. It took the length of the stretch and a :28.1 final panel to get past Atomix Hanover to win by a head in a lifetime best 1:51.4. Trained by Jamie Sullivan for Delaware-based owners David Hamm of Dagsboro, Glenn Phillips of Frankford and Frank Chick of Harrington, Hungry Marco now has five wins from nine starts and earnings of $138,568.

Green To Go and Brian Zendt turned in the fastest Keystone Classic division for two-year-old colt trotters with a first-over 1:55.4 victory. Moving from fifth past the half, Zendt was unable to flush cover, forcing the Greenshoe-Donna Hill gelding to grind down leader Scarpa (Dave Palone) and get the neck victory. The win earned Green To Go, now a two-time winner, a new speed badge for owner-trainer Doug Ackerman of Aberdeen, N.C.

Sparkling Lindy and Ronnie Wrenn Jr. took command of their Keystone Classic division early and controlled the tempo before sprinting home in :28.2 to score a length victory over Hades Hanover (Brady Brown) in a career best 1:56.4. Fresh off the Pennsylvania fair circuit, Sparkling Lindy is now a three-time winner this year for owner-trainer Mahlon Martin of East Earl, Pa.

The Meadows also hosted a pair of international amateur driving events on Thursday. Jerry Kehm used his home-track knowledge to measure out a head victory with Northern Bluff in a time of 1:56.3, while The Netherlands' Yanick Mollema and Swan Legacy captured their contest in an identical time by more than three lengths for his first North American victory.

Racing and Keystone Classic action returns Friday, Sept. 18, with first-race post at 12:45 p.m.
