Lady Cafe Au Lait continued her phenomenal season with her 14th straight victory in a track-record performance on Thursday, Sept. 17 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Marc Campbell sent the Earl Watts trainee directly to the lead in the $9,000 Aged Pacing Mares Series division and controlled fractions of :28.2, :56.2 and 1:24.2. The mare then sprinted home in :27.4 to win by 4-1/4 lengths in 1:52.1 to set a new track record for aged pacing mares at the capital oval. Redland Misspretty (Paul Langille) finished second, with Brokeandoutofgas (Gilles Barrieau) third.

The mile eclipsed Pasta Momma's former 1:52.2 divisional standard and equalled Lady Cafe Au Lait's own Atlantic record for older female pacers, which she set in July at Summerside Raceway.

Lady Cafe Au Lait ($2.10) is owned by Windemere Farms of Springvale, P.E.I. and Matt and David Burke of Stratford, P.E.I. The four-year-old Big Jim-Lady Latte mare is 12-for-12 on the Island after winning her last two starts in Ontario. She has tallied 23 victories in 56 career starts and earned $285,677.

Campbell completed an Aged Pacing Mares Series sweep aboard Cc Rockin Rosie ($8.10) in the second division. The Adam Merner trainee, away sixth in a :27.2 opener, came first-over through :56.2 and 1:24.2 middle panels and powered to the lead passing three-quarters, winning by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:53.3. Vibrance (Jason Hughes) was second, and Sectionline Flame (Corey MacPherson) completed the triactor. 

Steven MacDonald of Stanhope, P.E.I. and Tommy Collings of Mount Stewart, P.E.I. share ownership in the winning four-year-old daughter of Rockin Image-Sir Lehigh Z Tam. Cc Rockin Rosie has won seven of 20 seasonal starts and is 12-for-50 lifetime with a bankroll of $170,948.

The $6,000 P.E.I. Colt Stakes Graduate Series Grassroots divisions for pacing mares went to Saulsbrook Pika and Freaky Fanny.

Saulsbrook Pika ($2.10) and driver Barrieau dominated the first split. The five-year-old Malicious-Heads Up Hanover mare won by 5-1/4 lengths in 1:55.2 for trainer Ron Matheson and owners Jackie Cooper of Stratford and Elmer and Jeff Campbell of Airdrie, Alta. Islebetu Islebeatu (Ryan Desroche) was second and Watch Me Shake It (Kenny Arsenault) finished third.

Freaky Fanny ($2.10) was equally impressive in the second Graduate Series division as trainer-driver Darren Crowe supplied the front-end steer before winning by 4-1/4 lengths in 1:56.4. Josh MacDonald of Little Pond, P.E.I. owns the five-year-old daughter of Artspeak-Silverhill Bunna. Promise Me Later (Barrieau) was second, and Shelleys Spirit (Keith Ford) finished third.

Barrieau also won with Flemsteen ($3.20) in 1:57.1 for trainer Mike Ramsay and My Happy Place ($2.40) in 1:57 in the finale for trainer Matheson.

MacPherson recorded four victories on the 15-race program. He won with Rocket Blast ($2.10) in 1:58.4 from his own stable, Saulsbrook Eclipse ($8.10) in 2:02.4 for trainer Lenny Myers, Cinnamon Swirlz ($4.30) in 1:58 for trainer Stacey Darrach and his own trainee Staggerette ($3) in 1:57.4.

Pop The Pin ($15.60) won in 1:58.3 for driver Hughes and trainer Ashley Gamester, then Serenity Now ($3.70) doubled the duo in 1:55.2 later on the card.
