Freshman fillies faced off in Keystone Classic Stakes on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, with two $55,625 divisions for pacers and a $80,764 division for trotters.

Driver Dave Palone swept the two-year-old pacing filly divisions with the Steve LeBlanc trainee Aestas and Love Somebody from the Linda Toscano stable.

Sent postward as the 1-5 favourite, Aestas took a new lifetime mark of 1:52 winning her division in front-end fashion by 3-1/2 lengths over Wish For A Captain (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) and Jodo Hanover (Aaron Merriman). The daughter of Papi Rob Hanover-Air Miles Hanover is owned by Glenn Dyke of Townsend, Delaware. 

Love Somebody, the 2-1 second choice, tipped from third with a quarter-mile to go and overhauled the popular pacesetter Gold Impact (Mike Wilder), who ended up third as Fauvette Hanover (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) closed from the pocket within a neck of the winner. The homebred Captaintreacherous-Jolly Miss Molly filly lowered her mark to 1:52.2 for Ohio owners Country Club Acres Inc. and Joe Sbrocco of Ohio. 

Ronnie Wrenn Jr. worked out the winning trip in the trotting division for 3-5 favourite Shes A Home Run, who cleared to the lead past the quarter and held off all challengers to win by half a length in 1:56.2. Sevenoops Hanover (Brady Brown) and The Captains Wife (Justin Irvine) took the minor awards in a three-across finish. Vernon Beachy trains the daughter of Captain Corey-Shes A Bronxbomber for Ohio owners 518 Group and Ryan Smith.
