Patriarch Hanover Attains Millionaire Status At Mohawk
Patriarch Hanover passed $1 million in career earnings with a second-place effort in the fifth race on Sunday, Sept. 13 at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
The nine-year-old stallion left alongside Stable Genius (Mark MacDonald) and ducked into the pocket entering the first turn for the garden trip through :27.4, :56.4 and 1:24.4 fractions. Stable Genius trotted out of reach in the stretch en route to a five-length win in 1:53, but Patriarch Hanover stayed game for driver Travis Cullen to hold second over Locatelli (Natasha Day).
The $4,500 place cheque pushed Patriarch Hanover’s career earnings to $1,002,595. He reached millionaire status in his 223rd start. The stakes-winning son of Father Patrick-Personal Style has 36 career victories, including two Free-For-Alls and three Preferreds at Mohawk and the Keystone Classic at two and three and Arden Downs as a sophomore. Jodie Cullen trains the stallion for A1stable of Dundas, Ont.
