Trainer Lexie Dickison's first-win celebration on Sunday, Sept. 13 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park came with an afterparty as she won again later on the card to double her career tally.

Heart Like A Truck motored down the pylons to win the fourth-race conditioned pace, providing Dickison her first training victory. Ryan Desroche slid the Stag Party-Winbak Wiggle mare in third, which became fourth and well back of the leaders as pocket-sitter Lorne Valley Liv (Myles Heffernan Jr.) took bad steps and jammed up the field behind her while Havinfuninthesun (Myles Heffernan Sr.) flew up to take command. 

The top two of Havinfuninthesun and Shelleys Spirit (Keith Ford) operated with a big gap to Lorne Valley Liv and Heart Like A Truck through :28.2 and :57.4 panels, but the latter two encroached on the way to three-quarters in 1:28 as Shelleys Spirit popped the pocket and Heart Like A Truck also advanced on the rim. Desroche sliced Heart Like A Truck to the inside in the lane, and the five-year-old mare sprinted past Havinfuninthesun by 1-3/4 lengths for the 1:58.4 win. Shelleys Spirit was third. Heart Like A Truck won for the first time in 11 starts this season and improved to seven-for-49 lifetime with $20,967 in earnings. She paid $7 to win. Dickison, of Debec, N.B., co owns the mare with Kassie Dickison, also of Debec.

Party Place ($35.80) then delivered an upset in the 13th-race finale for driver Desroche and trainer Dickison. After sitting third through :28.4 and :57.4 fractions, the five-year-old son of Stag Party-Streisands Place made a first-over move to the lead to three-quarters in 1:25.4 and held off Mclovin (Marc Campbell) by a neck in 1:55.2, with Shadows Terror (Adam Merner) third. Scottie Decourcey of Fredericton, N.B., owns the winner. Sunday's win came in the gelding's third start for Dickison, bringing his seasonal record to two-for-nine and his lifetime totals to nine victories and $19,332 in earnings from 53 outings. 

Dickison debuted last year as a trainer — with Heart Like A Truck at Truro Raceway — and has compiled a 2-1-4 record from 20 starts. She has taken a cheque in 13 starts and booked earnings of $6,732. 

Blood Money controlled every fraction on his way to victory in the Sunday-afternoon top conditioned pace. Gilles Barrieau sent the Ron Matheson trainee to the front in the $5,000 conditioned feature and dictated fractions of :27.1, :56.3 and 1:24.4 before closing out the mile in 1:53. Blood Money ($6.50) won by one length over Phil My Beer (Marc Campbell) with Merigo Magic (Adam Merner) third.

Dr. Mitchell Downey of Saint John, N.B., owns the 10-year-old Blood Money, who recorded his 40th lifetime victory in 164 outings. The intact son of Sweet Lou-Blood Diamond is now seven-for-18 this season.

Marc Campbell tallied a driving triple on the 13-dash program, beginning with West Coast Kid ($7) in 1:58.3 in the fifth race for trainer Phil Kelly. The Orwell, P.E.I.-based reinsman later supplied front-end scores with Big Pond Cash ($14.90) in 1:55.3 from the Earl Watts stable and Hunters Hero ($8) in 1:55.3 for trainer Landon Campbell.

Stay Dreamy ($4.30) won the third race in 1:58.1 as part of a double for Watts, this time with driver Paul Langille.

The largest upset of the card in huge fashion arose in the seventh race as Shakemeup Hanover ($127.70) prevailed in 1:57 with driver Colin Sheppard in the bike for trainer Morgan Sheppard. 

Landon Campbell doubled in the bike as Galway Girl ($2.10) won the sixth race in 1:57.4 from his own barn and Nothing Bugs Me ($4) captured the eighth in 1:56.1 for trainer Vaughan Doyle.
