Stay Pumped charged down the lane to prevail in a three-horse dash for the $2,000 Winners Over Pace on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at Inverness Raceway.

Mcland (Zach Mullins) blasted from the outside post three to cross over ahead of Stay Pumped, with Eastcoast Invader (Monica Sutherland) trailing the group, which was scratched down from six entries, into the turn. The trio travelled single file through :30.1, 1:00 and 1:30 fractions, with Keigan Madden tipping Stay Pumped out and Eastcoast Invader a gapped third as they began to sprint turning for home. Mcland held the advantage into mid-stretch, but Stay Pumped powered ahead in the final strides for a three-quarter-length victory in 1:58.1. Eastcoast Invader was third.

Stay Pumped scored her third win in her last four outings, bolstering her seasonal record to eight-for-28. The five-year-old daughter of Stay Hungry-Pump My Ride, now 19-for-87 lifetime with $94,898 earned, is trained by Ethan MacLean for Michael Gillis of Windsor, Ont. She returned $4.50 as the 6-5 longest shot on the board – her two rivals were even-money.

The Wednesday card was rescheduled from last Sunday, when it was cancelled due to weather and power issues.
