Live harness racing at Desert Park Raceway is scheduled to kick off on Sunday, Sept. 27 with 22 race dates running through Dec. 14. The first qualifiers will be held on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. (PDT).

Race Secretary Darren Lupul has announced that the first condition sheet for the Sept. 27 opening day card is now available and can be viewed by clicking here. Entries are due by Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 9 a.m. (PDT).

Racing operations are managed by the newly created not-for-profit society Western Canada Horse Racing Association (WCHRA), driven by horsepeople and supported by Harness Racing BC (HRBC). WCHRA has completely rebuilt the five-eighths-of-a-mile racetrack surface specifically for high-calibre harness racing at the multi-use equestrian and exhibition facility.

Standardbreds have already begun to ship in to the Desert Park grounds, with Rick Lancaster trainee Itll Be Fine reported to be the first to arrive for the meet.
