Northside Downs has cancelled its Monday, Sept. 7 harness racing card and qualifiers due to unsafe conditions. 

The Harness Racing Cape Breton board stated that the track will not be safe enough for participants after a storm ravaged much of the Maritimes over the weekend, prompting cancellations in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

"The worst of the weather is behind us and our track has very little damage, [but] we feel safety is an issue."
