Doug McNair joined elite harness racing company on Sunday, Sept. 6 at Woodbine Mohawk Park by reaching $100 million in career driving earnings.

On the heels of a five-win performance Saturday night, McNair entered Sunday $36,152 shy of $100 million. He quickly knocked that number down to $6,152 by winning a pair of Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots events at Clinton on Sunday afternoon.

Returning to Mohawk for the evening, McNair finished second in his first drive to edge within $652 of nine digits. The milestone moment occurred in the evening’s sixth race, as McNair teamed the Dave Menary-trained seven-year-old trotter Stable Genius ($3) to win a $17,000 overnight. McNair was joined by family and friends in the winner’s circle for a special presentation following the victory.

A resident of Guelph, Ont., McNair has been among Canada’s top drivers since debuting in 2008. The 36-year-old reinsman has 5,187 wins and has racked up $5 million or more in a season 12 times, with 2026 set to be the 13th of his career.

McNair’s career accomplishments include an O’Brien Award as Canada’s Driver of the Year in 2017, two National Driving Championships (2018, 2022), three Breeders Crown victories and two Lampman Cups as the leading driver in the Ontario Sires Stakes.

Entering Sunday, McNair sat second in the Woodbine standings for 2026 with 189 wins, $4.5 million in earnings and a win rate of 21.8 per cent.

Lamborghini Lou ($6.10) won the $20,000 Pop-Up Series consolation on the card in 1:50. The series, the final of which was held on Saturday, was for pacers that had started for a purse of $13,000 or less in their prior four starts or had earned less than $2,200 this year and had earnings not exceeding $50,000 in 2026.
