Apparently not satisfied with a 1:48.4 romp last week, World Of Wishes came back on Saturday, Sept. 5 at The Meadowlands and did it again in the same exact lifetime-best time, walloping five foes in the $38,194 feature, an Open II for pacers.

Just as flashy was winning driver Brett Beckwith, who not only guided the four-year-old gelded son of Bettors Wish-Peak Of Chic to that victory, but had five others on the 14-race card to become the first driver in 2026 to win a half-dozen on a program twice at The Big M.

“What a really nice horse. He's push button,” said Beckwith of the Open winner.

World Of Wishes, who is now two-for-two since relocating to the Joe Bongiorno barn, sprinted to command from post five in the six-horse field and led at the quarter in :26.3. He continued to roll on the front end past the half in :54.3 and three-quarters in 1:23 and barely broke a sweat pacing home in :25.4 to complete a dominant two-length score. Christopher Dance N (Colin Kelly), the 2-1 second choice, was second best, with Captain Crusader A (Jonathan Ahle) finishing third.

“All I did was pop plugs, and he just sprinted on in :25.4 pretty easily,” said Beckwith. “(When he got a little bumpy in mid-stretch) I think he just turned a foot a little too quick. I called on him and pulled the plugs, and I think he just wanted to switch gears a little too fast. So maybe that's on me. But other than that, I mean, he's a gem to drive. Anyone could drive him. From what I've driven before, he's probably up there as some of the best horses I've sat behind.”

As the 1-5 public choice, World Of Wishes paid $2.60 while upping his lifetime stats to 12 wins from 45 tries, good for earnings of $256,989 for owner El Dorado Stables.

Beckwith also won with Always B Gibby ($3), Moonshiner N ($9.20), All Alone ($3), Moving On Over ($3.80) and Supergirl Molly ($2.40). He leads the Big M drivers' standings by 14 wins over Bongiorno. Saturday's haul improved his overall 2026 tally to 350 in 1,534 starts.

Bongiorno and Petter Engblom topped the trainers with two winners apiece. 

Robert Glaser ($305.40 USD) and Joe Barre ($210 USD) finished with top two bankrolls in Leg 9 of the $1,000 USD Meadowlands Handicapping Contest. For finishing one-two, the pair earned entries into the invitation-only $10,000 USD contest final that takes place on Dec. 12. The win was the second this year for Glaser. 

All-source handle on the 14-race program was $2,201,259 USD.
