Fresh off an Atlantic record performance on Gold Cup & Saucer night, Badgirl Bridgette will look to return to the winner’s circle this Thursday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The capital oval has a 15-dash presentation starting at 6 p.m. (ADT), with the featured $5,550 Fillies & Mares Preferred 1 Pace in race nine. Canadian win leader Austin Sorrie will be back in his home province on Thursday with three drives. Sorrie currently has 253 wins in 2026, ahead of Brady Galliers at 238 wins and Samuel Fillion at 236.

Badgirl Bridgette is the 5-2 morning line favourite in the $5,550 top mares pace and will leave from post five with Jason Hughes in the driver's seat for trainer/owner Bill Lanigan of Montague, P.E.I. The four-year-old daughter of Stonebridge Terror was a 1:52.4 winner in her latest outing on Aug. 22, defeating Trumps Girl and Rosetown Mary for her fourth victory of the season. The mile was a record for Atlantic-bred mares on the East Coast.

The 24-time career winner faces five rivals on Thursday, including Cc Rockin Rosie, who has drawn post four for trainer/driver Adam Merner and P.E.I. owners Steven MacDonald of Stanhope and Tommy Collings of Mount Stewart. The daughter of Rockin Image won a $30,000 Sapphire Open Mares event on Aug. 17 in 1:54.2 before finishing fourth to Badgirl Bridgette on Gold Cup & Saucer night. She is the second choice at 3-1.

Rosetown Mary will leave from the rail at 7-2 for trainer/driver Corey MacPherson and P.E.I. owners Rosetown Stable of Stratford and Taylor MacPherson of Cornwall. The Pang Shui mare was third in her latest outing after winning an Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares Series division in a career-best 1:53.2 earlier in August.

Freaky Fanny will leave from the outside post six for trainer/driver Darren Crowe and owner Josh MacDonald of Little Pond, P.E.I. The Artspeak mare has seven wins this season, including her last three in a row -- her latest being a 1:54.3 score in a $30,000 Sapphire division on Aug. 17.

Windemere Saddy (post two), to be driven by Ken Murphy, and Redland Misspretty (post three), with Paul Langille, complete the field.

The "Post Time Picks" sides with Badgirl Bridgette over Rosetown Mary and Cc Rockin Rosie to win it: “Badgirl Bridgette finished runner-up to Lady Cafe Au Lait two starts back and followed it up with an off the pace win in 1:52.4 last time out. It's tough for a four-year-old to compete against older horses but she has elevated her game in recent weeks, so I'm betting she goes back-to-back.”

The $5,500 Open Handicap Trot lines up in race 12 with Fight Song and Buckhead Ridge renewing their rivalry.

Buckhead Ridge is the 5-2 morning line favourite from the outside post six with Marc Campbell driving for trainer Landon Campbell and owner Brady Doyle of Stratford, P.E.I. The son of Nuncio has six wins, four seconds and two thirds from 12 starts this season.

Fight Song gets post five and is 3-1 on the morning line for driver Jason Hughes, trainer Ashley Gamester and owner Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge, P.E.I. The Kadabra gelding defeated Buckhead Ridge in 1:54.4 in the $8,000 Colonel Dan Trot on Aug. 22.

West River Jet is the third choice from post four for trainer/driver Kenny Arsenault and owner Haley MacDonald of Charlottetown. The son of E L Rocket comes off a 1:59.2 victory last Thursday in a conditioned trot following a top three finish in the Colonel Dan.

Rocket Blast (post one, Corey MacPherson), Whole Nother (post two, Colin Sheppard) and Oceanview Nikki (post three, Mike McGuigan) round out the six-horse field.
