T Dog ($12.40, Jason Thompson) was a mild upset winner in the $31,250 Open Pace Monday (Aug. 31) at Harrington Raceway.

Away from the rail, T Dog settled into third early while Armada Hanover (Tony Morgan) took command through a :27 opening quarter. The order was unchanged to the half in :56 before T Dog charged first-over to challenge the leader at three-quarters in 1:25. T Dog put away the pacesetter before facing a fresh threat in Back Pocket Miki (Mike Cole), holding off that foe by a nose on the wire as race favourite Wehadababyetzaboy (Brandon Givens) had traffic issues from post eight and was third. 

T Dog is trained by Mike Kimelman who co-owns the winner along with Sara Kimmelman, each of Marydel, DE. The six-year-old Bolt The Duer-New Hollywood gelding notched his sixth win of the year and 27th lifetime.

The meet’s leading driver, Brandon Givens, had five wins on the card, scoring with Beachalator ($5.20, 1:59.4), Papas Son ($3.60, 1:54.1), Jasper Hill ($2.40, 1:56.4), Roman Raider ($6.60, 1:55.4) and Renaissance Deo ($3.20, 1:53).

Live racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday (post time 4:30 p.m.) schedule through October 21 at Harrington Raceway.
