Get Wings Returns To Preferred Ranks Saturday
Governor’s Plate champion Get Wings will clash with former Gold Cup and Saucer winner Miki Shan N in a deep Preferred Pace this Saturday (Aug. 28) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval has 13 dashes scheduled for a 5 p.m. (ADT) opening post time with the $6,250 Preferred 2 Pace slated as Race 12.
Get Wings is the Post Time Picks selection from post three with Paul Langille taking the lines for trainer Vaughan Doyle and P.E.I-based owners Gary Ford of Stratford and Janet Kinney of Wheatley River. The four-year-old son of Bettors Wish has won 10 of 28 starts this season and was a runner-up to Miraculous Desbi N in the $15,000 P.E.I. Harness Racing Industry Association Invitational in his latest appearance.
Miki Shan N leaves from post six with Corey MacPherson in the seat for trainer Chris MacKay. The 2025 Gold Cup and Saucer winner captured his trial in 1:51.2 before finishing ninth from post eight in last Saturday’s $100,000 final, won by Fifth And Five.
Twin B Tuffenuff is the 5-2 morning-line favourite from post five for driver Gilles Barrieau, trainer Ron Matheson and owner Patrick Morris of Charlottetown. The 11-year-old son of Rock N Roll Heaven was fourth in the $30,000 James (Roach) MacGregor Gold Cup and Saucer Consolation last Friday after closing his mile in 1:51.
The Tulsa King (To be driven by Mike McGuigan) has the rail along with post two starter Merigo Magic (Adam Merner) and Gigis Dream (Marc Campbell) completing the field with post four.

Race eight is the $3,500 Omer Caissie Memorial with Geishas Treasure favoured from post six. Marc Campbell drives the Brendon Mullen trainee for owner Blaize Rogerson of Tracadie Cross, P.E.I.
