Southwind Farms and the Muscle Hill Syndicate announced on Wednesday (Aug. 26) that champion sire Muscle Hill has been retired from stallion service.

A foal of 2006, Muscle Hill dominated on the track, winning 20 of 21 starts and $3.3 million, including the 2009 Hambletonian in a world record 1:50.1. He was named Horse of the Year in Canada and the U.S. in 2009.

At stud, Muscle Hill has sired the winners of over $139 million in North America, including 20 millionaires. His performers include Triple Crown winner Marion Marauder 1:50.2 ($3,605,106), champion mare Manchego 4,1:49 ($3,279,400), as well as numerous champions in Europe and the Southern Hemisphere.

Muscle Hill’s impact on the trotting breed will be carried on by his countless sons and daughters. The Muscle Hill Syndicate would like to thank all of the shareholders and breeders who have bred to Muscle Hill throughout the years.
