Miki And Minnie winning at The Meadowlands

Trot Insider has learned that Miki And Minnie, harness racing's top-ranked pacer, will miss the remainder of 2026 due to injury.

According to trainer Chris Ryder, a CT scan revealed a hairline fracture near Miki And Minnie's back left ankle after the mare came up lame on Monday. Surgery was performed on Thursday, Aug. 20 at Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center with a screw inserted to help repair the bone.

A daughter of Always B Miki-Thats The Ticket, Miki And Minnie most recently raced on Aug. 8 at The Meadowlands, winning the $217,361 Lady Liberty for driver James MacDonald. The stakes win lifted her seasonal summary to 6-0-2 in eight starts with $521,313 in earnings.

A 25-time winner from 34 races, Miki And Minnie is a homebred owned by Craig Henderson of Chicago, Illinois, Robert Mondillo of Delaware, Ohio and Lawrence Minowitz of Greenwich, Connecticut. The two-time Dan Patch Award winner and triple millionaire sports a mark of 1:48 and career record of 25-6-3, never missing the top three. She was scheduled to qualify on Friday, Aug. 21 at The Meadowlands in preparation for the Milton Stakes eliminations later this month at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
