Obsessed With Me, Easter Bb Triple In Buckeye Series

Obsessed With Me winning at Northfield Park

Obsessed With Me and Easter Bb secured their third Buckeye Stallion Series wins of the season on Wednesday, Aug. 19 as Northfield Park hosted the fourth leg for freshman male trotters.

Chris Page drove both rookies, who have won all of the Buckeye Stallion Series events they are participated in thus far.

Also a winner in the second and third legs, Obsessed With Me took the first $27,778 fourth-round division in 1:58.2, which was the fastest mile of Wednesday’s five Buckeye races. The Ready For Moni-Celebrity Obsesion gelding led gate to wire, recording fractions of :29.2, 1:00 and 1:29.2 en route to winning by two lengths over Senor Julio (Tyler Smith), with Rizz N Moni (Dan Noble) back in third. Obsessed With Me is trained by Matthew Burkholder for owner Dark Horse Farm of Vienna, Ohio. He has earned $45,384 in his first five starts.

After scoring wins in the first and third legs of the series, Easter Bb took Wednesday’s fifth division in 1:59.1. The Creatine-Fear Her Makeup gelding led through fractions of :29.4, 1:01 and 1:31 and won by five 5-1/4 lengths. Vacation Hill (Dan Noble) was second followed by Great Start (Luke Hanners) in third. Easter Bb has hit the board in all eight seasonal starts with seven straight wins and one third while banking just shy of $100,000. He is trained by Phillip Knox for owner Brant Brower of Kevil, Kentucky.

Luke Hanners joined Page in winning a pair of Buckeye races on Wednesday, taking the second and third divisions with East King Street (1:58.4) and Jet Range (1:58.3), respectively. Both maiden-breaking sons of In Range are trained by Virgil Morgan Jr. and owned by Joyce McClelland Stable of Zanesville, Ohio, with Columbus resident Larry Wills sharing ownership of Jet Range.

Sergeant Chino (1:59.2) also recorded his first career win, taking the evening's fourth Buckeye division for trainer Tim Twaddle for owner Hold The Line Stable of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Justin Irvine was the winning driver.
