William (Jarv) Edward Jarvis of Essex, Ont. passed away on Monday, Aug. 17, 2026 at the age of 95 years old. 

Son of the late Joe and Betty Jarvis, husband to the late Alma (The General) Jarvis, loving father to Deb Crowe (Bruce), Kevin Jarvis and Jim Jarvis (Deb). Dear Papa to Krystle Kendall and Dillon Jarvis, and great grandfather to Kayla Kendall and Avery Kendall.

Jarv retired from Chrysler’s after 32 and a half years. He loved spending his time at the arena cheering on his favourite teams and also played hockey for many years himself. He also loved his time as a Legion member and all the laughs he had with the family he had there. Jarv’s other passion was owning racehorses and travelling from track to track in Canada and the USA to watch.

The family would like to thank the great staff at Chartwell Age Care who made his last months very comfortable.

As per Jarv’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Jarv’s life will take place on Thursday, Sept. 3 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Essex Legion, located on Talbot St. in Essex.
