Apex Holds Top Spot In Unchanged Racing Poll
Hambletonian champion Apex led the way for the second consecutive week in the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll released on Wednesday, Aug. 19.
None of the horses in the Top 10 raced last week, resulting in no changes to their order in the Week 10 rankings.
Apex, who is targeting the New Jersey Classic in September, was followed by Miki And Minnie, On To Norway, Brandon Blvd and Big Ranger. Super Chapter, Nezuko Kamado S, Bourbonista S, Odds On Mr Mamba and Twin B Joe Fresh completed the Top 10.
The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, which will continue weekly on Wednesdays through the Grand Circuit season, does not determine year-end awards. The members of the United States Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus U.S. Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.
Rankings based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
