Slipped Onmybeans Streaks In Minnesota
Trainer Scott Banitt's homebred pacing filly Slipped Onmybeans extended her win streak in freshman Minnesota-sired action at Running Aces on Tuesday, Aug. 18.
Slipped Onmybeans rolled to her fifth straight win in the $20,833 Minnesota-sired filly 'A' pace, posting a dominating 4-3/4-length tally in 1:54.3. Driven by Dean Magee for owner/trainer Banitt, the homebred Captainryanmichael-Fancy Little Girl filly powered to the top and extended her lead at every call. She was the 1-10 favourite and paid just $2.10 to win while Stormy Shores and Justin Van Oterloo rallied impressively from mid-pack to grab second money and Lady Gulf rounded out the top three for Brady Jenson. Slipped Onmybeans improved to seven-for-eight and now has earnings just shy of $80,000.
In the $20,833 Minnesota-sired male 'A' pace, Captain Ricky, also by Captainryanmichael (out of Exsqueezeme), turned in another sharp gate-to-wire effort from post eight for his third straight tally and his fifth win of the season in seven starts. Casey Leonard was the winning driver as Captain Ricky scored a one-length tally in 1:54.3 while A A Ron and Luke Plano surged late for second and Bombi, with Mooney Svensen, rolled home in third. Justin Anfinson trains the gelding for owners Alan & Cheryl Sandbulte of Maurice, Iowa and Stephanie Anfinson of Kenyon, Minnesota. Captain Ricky paid $2.20 to win as the big favourite.
Also trained by Justin Anfinson, Turbo Tinker and driver Casey Leonard orchestrated a perfect pocket trip and rallied inside late to make it two in a row in the $24,306 Minnesota-sired male trot division. Recording his fourth career win in eight starts, the Big Oil-Twilight Tinker gelding took a new mark in 2:02, winning by half a length over Wishingiwasfishing and Brady Jenson, with Wind Hunter and Scott Cisco third. The popular $3.40 winner is owned by Cathy Dessert of Vadnais Heights, Minnesota and Ken Stauffer of Withee, Wisconsin.
DM American Woman made the best of her second career start, prevailing from the pocket in 2:02 in the $24,306 Minnesota-sired filly trot with Rick Magee in the bike for lessee and trainer Jenni King. The Tymal Templar-Pats Keeper filly returned $9.20 on top, defeated tempo-setter Big Keliane and Adam Hauser by 1-1/2 lengths, with Spiceitupwithoil and Luke Plano third in a 2-3 finish for the Anfinson stable.
In a $19,444 Open II Pace, Spiritofanoutlaw went down the road for a 1:51.4 score by half a length over favoured Dandys Freedom and Casey Leonard, with Speaking Volumes and Rick Magee third. The five-year-old Western Trademark-Mariah Blue Chip gelding earned his fifth win of the year from 21 starts for owner/trainer/driver Brady Jenson. The win mutuel was $5.40.
Brady Jenson led the nine-race program with a driving and training triple.
Live harness racing returns to Running Aces for an 11-race program on Thursday, Aug. 20 that includes a carryover of $4,979.08 in the 20-cent Pick-5 Jackpot wager starting in race seven. First post is set for 6 p.m. (CDT).
