Hoosier Cancels Wednesday Card
Due to immense rainfall and flash flooding in the area, Harrah's Hoosier Park has cancelled live racing on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
Racing is scheduled to resume on Thursday, Aug. 13 with a 14-race program set to get underway at 5:30 p.m.
When racing resumes on Thursday, the first race on the card will feature a carryover of $4,973 into the Early Pick 5 (Races 1-5), with that pool guaranteed at $20,000. Additionally, the Thursday program will offer the traditional $10,000 guarantees in the Late Pick 4 (Races 11-14) and Late High 5 (Race 14) in partnership with the United States Trotting Association's Strategic Wagering Program.
The Thursday card will serve as the final appetizer before Dan Patch Stakes night on Friday, Aug. 14. In addition to the $300,000 USD Dan Patch Stakes (Grade 1), presented by Indiana Standardbred Breed Development, featuring 11 of the top older pacers in North America, the Friday card will include the following guarantees: $10,000 guaranteed Early Pick 5 (Races 1-5); $10,000 guaranteed Pick 4 (Races 6-9); $30,000 guaranteed Late Pick 4 (Races 12-15); and $10,000 guaranteed Late High 5 (Race 15).
Free online programs will be available on the Hoosier Park website, along with complimentary access to Hoosier Park race replays.
