Odds On Monetary and Surreal Spirit emerged with the wins from a pair of $116,197 New York Sire Stakes divisions for three-year-old pacing fillies featured on Thursday night, Aug. 6 at MGM Yonkers Raceway.

Driven by Matt Kakaley in the first flight, Odds On Monetary led through fractions of :27.3, :55.3 and 1:23.3, successfully dealt with pressure from a parked-out Existential (Brent Holland) in the middle-half and held sway over pocket-sitter Savage Cindy (Jordan Stratton) through the stretch and to the wire, winning by a length in 1:52.1. Ideal Beauty Queen (Tyler Buter) finished in third.

A daughter of Huntsville out of All On Top Hanover, Odds On Monetary is trained by Travis Alexander for owner Odds On Racing of Boca Raton, Florida. She now has a career summary of 9-2-1 from 17 outings with just shy of $500,000 in purse earnings.

A four-time NYSS winner this year, Odds On Monetary paid $2.86 to win as the 2-5 favourite. She led a $6.08 exacta and a $14.96 trifecta.

In the other section, Two Twenty Swift (Yannick Gingras) was on top at the :27.3 quarter, :57.1 half and 1:25.4 three-quarters, but Surreal Spirit, with trainer Jeff Gregory in the bike, angled out of the pocket on the final bend and went by Two Twenty Swift in he lane en route to a 1:53.3 victory. Two Twenty Swift was three-quarters of a length back in second and Hunting Memories (Matt Kakaley) grabbed third.

The victorious So Surreal-Caviart Elena filly is owned by Edmund Namiotka Jr. and Carol Namiotka of Baldwinsville, New York along with Linda Mund of Eaton, New York. She now has five wins, four seconds and two thirds from 15 appearances and has banked nearly $250,000. 

Surreal Spirit returned $4.68 to win as the second choice. She was atop a $5.90 exacta and there was no trifecta wagering.

Yonkers also hosted three $28,169 New York Excelsior Series splits.

Taladega Express (Huntsville-Southwind Tango) won the first division in 1:56.2 for driver Leon Bailey, co-owner/trainer Jessica Okusko and co-owners Salvatore Vullo and James De Armond.

Carry Back (Huntsville-Hard Eight) took the next division in 1:53.1 for driver Jim Marohn Jr., trainer Linda Toscano and owners The Bay's Stable, Polger Stables, Fred Wallace and Richard Jack.

The third division was won by Lenna (American Ideal-L Dees Lioness) in 1:54 for driver Andy Miller, trainer Deborah Daguet and owner Forrest Bartlett.

In race four on the program, there was a two-horse accident on the final turn that involved My Man Peter, driven by Jason Bartlett, and Full Of Muscles, driven by Scott Zeron. Yonkers Raceway reported that both drivers were transported from the track and to the hospital via ambulance following the incident.
