Two-year-old pacing filly Fitterjake etched her name in the Hoosier Park record books with a 1:49.2 victory in the third leg of the Indiana Sire Stakes on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

Driven by Anthony Miller for trainer Aaron Stutzman, Fitterjake equalled the track record for two-year-old pacing fillies set by My Girl EJ in 2023.

Slotted into post one, Fitterjake did not skip a beat as she cruised to the early advantage in the evening's first $91,549 Indiana Sire Stakes division, tailed by favoured Kountry Legacy (Trace Tetrick) at the first quarter in :27.1. The top pair stretched out the field on the backstretch to the halfway mark in :54.4. Rounding the turn to three-quarters in 1:22.3, Fitterjake held strong as the leader with the advancing Kountry Legacy on her heels. Onto the homestretch, Fitterjake and Kountry Legacy went head-to-head as the slugfest advanced to the wire. Fitterjake held off Kountry Legacy, crossing the wire a neck in front in the record mile. Kountry Legacy squared away second, while Owleos Pride (Ricky Macomber Jr.) followed in third.

A homebred filly by JK Endofanera out of For Sharks Sake, Fitterjake is owned by James Miller of Dixon, Kentucky. She stayed perfect in her bright career, going three-for-three and winning back-to-back Sire Stakes to put her earnings just shy of the $100,000 mark. 

Fitterjake paid $6.80 to win as the third choice on the toteboard.

Mystical JK, driven by Kyle Wilfong for trainer Jay Hochstetler, won the other division for two-year-old pacing fillies with ease in a new lifetime mark of 1:50.4.

Mystical JK sprinted off the gate from post four to the first quarter in :27.1, beating out Tellmehowitis (Marcus Miller). The field remained single file behind the leader before Alexis It Is (Anthony Miller) stormed alongside Mystical JK at the halfway mark in :56.1. The leading duo raced to three-quarters in 1:24 with Mystical JK pulling clear and building her momentum for a decisive victory in 4-1/2 lengths. Tellemhowitis finished second and Callie Rocks (Trace Tetrick) got up for third of Alexis It Is.

Mystical JK is owned by Connie Hochstetler of Pinehurst, North Carolina, Mary Buddig of Hinsdale, Illinois, Janet Schwartz of Glen Ellyn, Illinois and South Of The Tracks Rac I of Brimfield, Illinois. The JK Endofanera-Mystical Carrie filly, who was a $56,338 yearling purchase from the 2025 Midwest Standardbred Sale, earned her second win -- both in Sire Stakes action -- for a boosted bankroll of $103,359 in four starts.

She paid $2.60 to win as the bettors' choice.

Two-year-old trotting fillies took to the track in a pair of $93,662 divisions for their third leg of Indiana Sire Stakes, with Redice delivering a dominant effort in the first split with Atlee Bender aboard for trainer Erv Miller.

Away from post three as the favourite, Redice tucked into third on the first turn while Prazana (John De Long) swept to the lead from the outside through a :28 opening panel. Twister Sister (James Yoder) then moved to the lead from the pocket, taking command before the :57.3 half, when Redice moved to the outside from third. Redice charged to the lead at three-quarters in 1:27.3 before trotting away in the stretch, opening up by seven lengths with Bender sitting chilling in the sulky as she hit the wire in 1:54.4 to knock a tick off her lifetime record. Gladden (Trace Tetrick) rallied for second, with Twister Sister holding for third.

Redice has won two straight against Indiana Sire Stakes company and is now three-for-five in her rookie campaign. The daughter of Rebuff-Fuzzy Dice, who was a $41,667 yearling purchase from the Lexington Selected Sale, has banked $143,963 already in her promising career for owners Ervin Miller Stable of Debary, Florida, Anthony Lombardi of Morris, Illinois and Stepbystep Racing of Davenport, Florida.

She paid $2.80 to win.

Favourites swept the two-year-old trotting filly divisions, with Dance Remix and driver Jordan Ross delivering a nice birthday present for trainer Henry Graber Jr.

Leaving from post three, Dance Remix trotted to the front end on the opening turn, taking the field of eight by the first station in :28.3. Finish Big (Spence Taylor) brushed to the lead on the backstretch, pocketing the bettors’ choice to the half in :57.2. Finish Big continued to trudge up front on the far turn, before Dance Remix popped the pocket with Unburdened (Marcus Miller) flushing that cover at three-quarters in 1:27.2. Unburdened loomed in the stretch, applying pressure to Dance Remix, but could not reach with Dance Remix holding sway by three-quarters of a length in a career-best 1:55.2. In The Buff (Kyle Wilfong) rallied to secure the third spot.

Yet to finish worse than second in three tries this year, two-time winner Dance Remix has banked $103,813 for Indiana owners S&R Racing Stables of Fishers, Indiana Stables of Rochester and Alvin Graber Jr. of Macy. The daughter of Rebuff-Antsy Dancey was purchased out of the Midwest Standardbred Sale as a yearling for $35,211.

Live harness racing returns on Thursday, Aug. 6 with a 14-race card that includes a $10,000 guaranteed Late Pick 4 and a $10,000 guaranteed Late Hoosier High 5. First post is set for 5:30 p.m.
