He's better than just alright, he's Alritealritealrite and he's now a winner of three straight efforts in the top class at Northside Downs.

On Saturday, Aug. 1, Alritealritealrite attracted much of the public support in the $1,600 Winners Over Pace and the five-year-old pacer delivered on his 1-2 favouritism in the afternoon feature. Driver Kevin Bailey got the top selection out from the pylons to gain early command and that is where he'd stay for the mile. After super-soft splits of :30.2, 1:01.3 and 1:31.2, Alritealritealrite closed in a strong :28.2 to hold off the late rail-skimming rally of Ranked Contender (Ardon Mofford) to win by half a length in 1:59.4. Revenant finished third for driver Shawn Lynk, with Hugh Heff (Randy Getto) and Thunder Alley (Mark Pezzarello) completing the field for a 1-2-3-4-5 program order finish.

Alritealritealrite ($3) is trained by Heather Hawkins for owners Terri Morrison of Marion Bridge, N.S., Irwin Claener of New Waterford, N.S., Kirk MacRae of Ben Eoin, N.S., and Angus MacEachern of Howie Center, N.S. Now with seven wins since moving to the east coast, the pacer sports 10 wins and $195,858 in earnings in his career.

An accident in the third race of the afternoon forced Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Commission judges to declare the race a no contest after A Very Fancy Man and driver Larry Snow fell to the racetrack at the quarter mile mark. Officials with Northside Downs reported that A Very Fancy Man came out of the spill unscathed. Snow reportedly felt fine after the tumble, but booked off his drives for the afternoon and went to hospital for examination.
