Trainer Vernon Beachy had a big night at Eldorado Scioto Downs on Thursday, July 30 as he took three out of the six Ohio State Fair Stakes for trotters, winning with the filly Made For More and colts Mind On My Moni and Debt Free.

Next Generation winner Made For More took the last $76,761 Ohio Fairs Trot division for two-year-old fillies in 1:56. Originally getting away third, Ronnie Wrenn Jr. quickly moved the favourite to the front past the :29.2 opening quarter. Leading the rest of the mile through splits of :58.3 and 1:27.4, Made For More easily won by three lengths over Sweet Stevie (Kurt Sugg), with Shinie T (Trevor Smith) third.

Made For More, by Long Tom out of the Chapter Seven mare Obsessed Blue Chip, now has two wins and two seconds in four lifetime starts and $180,735 earned for owner/breeder John Schlabach. She paid $2.60 to win.

Mind On My Moni is four-for-four after winning his $78,169 split of the Ohio State Trot for rookie males in 1:55.4, a new lifetime mark. Parked three-wide going into the first turn, Wrenn got Mind On My Moni to the front past the quarter in :29.2 to lead through 1:00 and 1:27.4 fractions. Flushed first-up going into the second turn, Iluvmymoni (David Miller) reeled in the leader but could only get within 1-1/4 lengths at the line. Cool Julio (Tyler Smith) came from the back of the pack to get up for third.

Mind On My Moni, bred by Winbak Farm, is out of the Angus Hall mare Jjs Jordyn. The gelding built his bankroll to $94,810. Two-dollar win tickets paid out $7.60.

Debt Free, driven by Tyler Smith in the $78,169 second Ohio State Trot contest, got the pocket trip behind pacesetter Jet Range (Brett Miller), who set fractions of :27.3 and :56.4 before Walks The Fire (Wrenn) made the lead just after the three-quarters in 1:26. Debt Free then flew down the stretch and marched 3-1/4 lengths clear of his stablemate to score in 1:55.2. Range Espress (Sandy Beatty) got up for third.

Debt Free, out of the Chapter Seven mare Feelsofree, was bred by Schlabach. The gelding now has $65,142 earned with one win in three lifetime starts. The win price was $4.40.

Both of Beachy’s male winners are by Ready For Moni and are owned by 518 Group, Gitup Racing, Ryan Smith and Todd’s Auto. Beachy's trainees are 48-for-132 collectively this season, giving the trainer a strike rate of 36.4 per cent.

The first colt dash, going for $79,225, was won by Lou Armstrong in 1:55. Away third for Anthony MacDonald as Satans Fury (Wrenn) drove on to the top in a :28.2 opening quarter, Lou Armstrong pulled out just as the field was coming off the first turn. After making the front, the gelding set fractions of :56.4 and 1:25.4 before winning by a length over Satans Fury. Rolln In Moni (Chris Lems) came from midfield to finish third.

Lou Armstrong, is a homebred for The Stable, by Cuatro De Julio out of the My Mvp mare My Jazz. The Jason McGinnis trainee now has three wins in five starts and $66,338 earned for Thestable Lou Armstrong. He paid $3.40 to win.

Secrets Ilia took the fastest Ohio Fairs Trot division for fillies in 1:55. Getting the perfect pocket trip behind Envious Queen (Dave Miller) through fractions of :28, :57 and 1:26.4, Secrets Ilia (Brett Miller) took the lead midway down the stretch to win by a length. Envious Queen was second, with Take Her Home (Chris Page) finishing third.

The win was the second in three starts for Secrets Ilia, who is trained by Micah Miller for Wayne Mast Jr. and Callam Racing LLC. Bred by Mose Yoder, the daughter of Long Tom and the Cjs Secret mare Cjs Super Secret took a new mark as she upped her earnings to $79,225. The win price was $2.80.

The In Range filly Rose Run Cybill won the first distaff division in 1:56 for driver Kurt Sugg and trainer Daren Harvey. Three-wide going through the first turn, Rose Run Cybill made the top and led through fractions of :28.1, :56.4 and 1:27 before striding off to a 6-1/2-length romp over Indigo Times (Kayne Kauffman). Missredwhitenblue (Chris Page) finished third.

Rose Run Cybill, out of the Broadway Hall mare Rose Run Timeless, is perfect in three starts with $108,802 earned for owners Wayne Mast Jr. and Callam Racing LLC. She returned $2.10.

Racing and Ohio State Fair (OSF) action continues on Friday at Scioto with a 16-race card starting at 5:25 p.m. Filly Friday includes OSF races for two-year-old pacers, three-year-old pacers and three-year-old trotters, along with aged mare trotters and aged mare pacers.
