If recent performance is any indication, sophomore trotting filly Cher Hill might be one to keep an eye on going forward this season.

The daughter of Muscle Mass-Lauramarie Hill, a homebred owned by Tom Hill and trained by Gregg McNair, started her year on the right foot with a win in her SBOA Filly Trot elimination at Woodbine Mohawk Park on May 8, but couldn't find the winner's circle for the rest of May, all of June and most of July.

On July 20, Cher Hill bested 2025 O'Brien Award winner Storybook Love in a lifetime best 1:53.3, wearing trotting hopples for the forst time since the end of her rookie season.

Back in to qualify with 'pants' on for her connections on Friday, July 31 at Mohawk, Cher Hill looked smooth and confident while besting a stout group of divisional rivals. Driver Doug McNair asked Cher Hill for early speed from post four, and she outstepped her rivals at every call. After fractions of :28.2, :58.1 and 1:27.4, Cher Hill closed in :27.2 for the 1:55.1 score. Bingo Night stayed second throughout for driver Tyler Jones, 2-3/4 lengths back of the winner, with Elbows Up (Jonathan Drury) closing well to finish third.

Cher Hill sports five lifetime victories and a 5-1-3 summary from 16 starts with $202,191 in earnings. The next OSS Gold leg for the division is slated for Aug. 15 at Mohawk.
