A pair of $35,211 Open Handicap events were featured at Plainridge Park on Tuesday, July 28.

The top class trotters went postward first with Resolve To Win getting his eighth win of the year in a first-over effort. 

Resolve To Win (Bruce Ranger) got away fourth and watched as Pepper Wow (Mitchell Cushing) and Hey Porter (Brett Beckwith) argued for the front, with the latter taking control passing the :26.4 quarter. Once in command, Hey Porter reached the half in a moderate :56 as the challenges from behind started to emerge. 

Resolve To Win moved first-up and was followed by Makeorbreakzaz S (Larry Stalbaum) as they approached three-quarters in 1:24. Resolve To Win drew even with Hey Porter in the turn and started to get the best of the leader. As the group straightened for home, Resolve To Win took the lead, but Makeorbreakzaz S went wide for the drive and started to push. Makeorbreakzaz S gained slightly, but Resolve To Win finished strong to win by a length in 1:52.3. Big Box Hanover (Nick Graffam) finished third.

Resolve To Win ($11), who has made all of his 19 starts this year in top-class races, is owned by Pollock Racing LLC and trained by Enrico Robinson. The six-year-old Resolve-Sensual Hall gelding is now 33-for-106 lifetime. 

Swedish Starlet N got her fourth win of the year in 23 starts after a furious stretch drive in the feature for Fillies and Mares.

Swedish Starlet N (Matty Athearn) got away third as Soft Shot (Jay Randall) took the lead and set fast fractions of :25.4 and :54 to the half. That's where Talk Curdy To Me (Brett Beckwith) pulled first-over from fourth and started to move towards the leader. 

Talk Curdy To Me encroached on Soft Shot at three-quarters in 1:21, where Swedish Starlet N was then shuffled back to fifth. As Talk Curdy To Me drew closer to Soft Shot, Swedish Starlet N was able to get off the pegs and moved three-wide. Heading down the lane, Talk Curdy To Me took over from Soft Shot, but Swedish Starlet N flew by them both to win by a neck in 1:49, setting a new lifetime mark. Talk Curdy To Me was second with Intothemysticmoon (Bruce Ranger) third.

Swedish Starlet N ($25) is owned by Tim Bojarski and Tony Gruppo and trained by Jimmy Nickerson. The nine-year-old Mach Three-Top Of The Pile mare tallied her 32nd career victory from 140 appearances.

Domenico Cecere topped the trainers with a triple on the 11-race card. He sent out five starters and reached the winner's circle with Essential (1:54.3, $4.80), Mothers Moni (1:53.3, $4.20) and Lindy Living (1:53.4, $2.20). The conditioner has 13 wins from 48 starts this season, a win rate of 27 per cent. Bruce Ranger drove all three of Cecere's winners, giving him four total tallies on the day.

Racing will resume at Plainridge Park on Thursday at 4 p.m.
