New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) action took centre stage on Tuesday, July 21 as three-year-old trotting fillies invaded Saratoga Casino Hotel. Two daughters of Chapter Seven, Who Dares Wins and Sharp Seven, captured the divisions in front-stepping fashion.

Sharp Seven, an NYSS champion at two, came into the $116,197 second division seeking her first stakes win of 2026. Jason Bartlett put the George Ducharme-trained filly on the lead from post two, and the 3-5 favourite parked out major danger R Ro (Tyler Buter) through first-half fractions of :28.3 and :58. Sharp Seven padded her lead every step of the way in the back half, reaching three-quarters in 1:26.2 while 2-3/4 lengths in front, and she checked in for a 1:55.4 victory by 5-3/4 lengths. R Ro finished gamely and wound up as the runner-up while Flying Copper (Yannick Gingras) finished third. 

Sharp Seven is now three-for-seven this year and has won back-to-back starts. The filly, out of Lookin Sharp, tallied her eighth win in 18 career appearances and grew her earnings to $690,100 with Tuesday's win for Purple Haze Stables LLC. She paid $3.24 at the windows.

The $118,310 division of the NYSS went to Who Dares Wins, who scored her second consecutive victory in the series. She made two early moves to take the front in a :29.1 quarter for Yannick Gingras, set middle panels of :58.3 and 1:27.3, and was home a comfortable winner in 1:56.4. Chant (Bartlett) finished second from the pocket by 1-1/4 lengths, with Jula Hot To Chill (Matt Kakaley) third.

Ake Svanstedt trains the winning filly out of Inspired By Life for Order By Stable Ab. Who Dares Wins is three-for-seven this year and five-for-13 lifetime with a bankroll of $152,900. Her win price was $3.58.

There were two $28,169 Excelsior Series divisions for the sophomore female trotters. The winners were 2025 series champion Elqueen ($5.30), who won by a head in 1:57 for Bartlett and Ducharme, and Saparilla Sal ($2.92), a 1-1/4-length winner in 1:59.2 for trainer-driver Dan Daley.

Live racing resumes on at Saratoga on Saturday with a first post time of 6:45 p.m.
